THE DRY TORTUGAS...GO THERE IF YOU HAVEN'T BEEN THERE!!!

We are on the Yankee Freedom Ferry to get out to the Dry Tortugas. It is a primitive island that has Fort Jefferson and excellent snorkeling right off the island...in fact it is a National Park!
We decided to camp on the beach for a couple of nights...and that was one of the best decision we have ever made!! This place made our top 5 places to visit...but you must camp to get the full experience!!!  We cooked brats and corn on the cob and watched the sun set on our private beach...there were like 8 people on the whole island after the ferry left!

After a long day of snorkeling Seth got a sun burn strip on his lower back...very minor considering there was no shade!!!
 Fort Jefferson at Sunset

We got to do our devotion time in the Lord's beautiful creation!

It was the clearest water we had ever seen...full of a new adventure everytime you went out snorkeling!!

 Our lonely shade tree!
My husband sleeps in public places just like this...so weird haha!

 Dirty Dancing reenactment!

If you look in the lower left hand corner you might think that is sea grass...but no those are millions of teeny tiny bait fish!!!

Things we saw snorkeling....Nurse Shark, squid, Tarpon, Clown Fish, Parrot Fish (Drag Queen of the Sea), Barracuda, Billions of Bait fish everywhere, Angel Fish, Hog Fish (good eatin' fish), jelly fish, puffer fish, grouper, brain coral, fan coral, Conchs...ect...everytime we went out we saw something new!!

SCOTTY WINS AMERICAN IDOL AT KEY WEST

Seth got a hotel room just so I could watch Scotty win American Idol (j/k) but it did work on nicely...he had been my favorite from the first live show!!  I was pretty stoked!!!
We ate a couple of burritos on Duvall Street

GOOD BYE FORT MYERS!!

Our days consisted of working out...where Jessi was introduced to Spinning (she loved and rocked at), Yoga (she realized she needs more of), and Pilates (not her favorite haha)!
These are my work-out buddies/teacher/friends...I miss them so much! They welcomed me in with open arms...I won't forget their kindness!!!
Seth's last day at Gulf Coast Medical Center!
Jessi is just beat after the Spinning class ( I had to take this picture to justify Mom's picture of her sleeping after her spinning class...haha) Hope this makes you feel better Mother!!!
This is our packed to the MAX van...with no AC at this point...Seth was very slippery to say the least!
We had to put sun reflectors on our windows to keep the utilities bill from getting too high, because the sun would just bake us with all those windows!
Jessi is in the hole with no AC...but Seth (Mr. Handy Man) fixed just about 5 minutes down the road...because it was miserable!! On to Dry Tortugas and Key West!!!!

DRY SEASON AT ANIHINGA

Jessi is looking for a Gator...and mildly freaking out :-)
Jessi couldn't believe that the gator wouldn't give her a show and chomp on the fish swimming right by the gators mouth. We told her that gators are masters at storing their energy and only exert energy when they have to...she didn't like their lazy attitude....however I am sure she wouldn't mind it if she was the one in the water...haha!

This is a Banyan Tree, it is an invasive species (but a really cool one)...it basically takes over a tree and grows the trunk from dropping roots from the branches!
It was the heart of the dry season at Anhinga and all the gators had retreated to the one remaining deep pool of water. So it was a different experience because gators weren't just laying everywhere, but in a concentrated area.

JOHN PENNEKAMP = SUNK PIRATE SHIP

John Pennekamp is a Florida State Park on Key Largo.  We just snorkeled off the shore where there was an old pirate ship that we could explore along with many different fish...however this experience had nothing on what was to come at the Dry Tortugas!!!  We ate on a beach, where Seth introduced Jessi to gourmet cheese and plum sauce.  I got stung by sea lice, which is really baby jellyfish that hang out in the sea grass...felt like a bee sting!  Jessi had tons of fun because this was her first experience of real snorkeling!!

MELTING POT 2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

Seth took me to the Melting Pot for a wonderful four course dinner! We actually had to cook our food there the experience and atmosphere just set up a perfect night.  The white chocolate fondue was just heaven!!  These past 2 years have been way too easy and I love being married to my best friend!
