MOUNTAIN TOP WITH THE GIRLS

Mountain Top is famous for their beautiful view and the 60 year old banana daiquiri recipe they serve up here! The girls took a trip up to the top of this mountain with Tish at the wheel. This place has a huge place to shop for touristy stuff...but the prices were really decent! I got a really cute scarf and a tie-dye cover up (Jessi you are going to want to steal it:-)

I wish the camera could capture the true beauty...it looked painted! Just a snap shot of time when you looked down on the ocean with islands scattered everywhere around!
Tish called this the reverse Oreo....She is a crazy one!

My virgin banana daiquiri was AMAZING!!! So so so so good!!! This is my friend Sarah...she is my shopping, snorkeling & beach buddy :-)
Drake's Seat...Sir Frances Drake would sit at this point and watch for enemy ships, it over looks Megan's bay which he named after his lover, because he thought it was shaped as a heart.

CHRIS & LIZZ'S TOUR OF THE USVI

We took the car over on the ferry to St. John, after we picked the ladies up from Sugar Bay (an all-inclusive resort here on St. Thomas). The day before we spent the day on our beach, Sapphire Beach, and looked for Sea Turtles....but no luck, so Chris was on a mission to see some Seaturtles over at St. John!
The ferry ride was beautiful over the water was some amazing shades of aqua blue and the clouds in the sky were so full of texture!
There are some of the best beaches on the world on this little island and we were going to do some beach hopping to show them a few. However, when we got there the beaches looked totally different because of the WAVES!!! When we had went a few days before the water was like glass, but that day there were warnings out not to swim because of how huge the waves were and the strength of the rip tide. Bummer! So we didn't go to Trunk Bay (the most beautiful beach on the island) because you had to pay 4 bucks....but I think it worked out for the best!
There were surfers out on Cinnamon try to catch the good waves!
Seth knew just where to take us to find some good snorkeling...after a short 30 minute hike we were away from the crowds and on this secluded beach tucked away in the Virgin Island National Park.Within minutes of us being there we spotted a seaturtle, and Chris and Lizz's clothes were flying off and snorkel gear was being applied as they entered the water :-) Even though the water wasn't the most crystal clear due to the waves creating debris and push around of sand....the snorkeling was excellent! Three seaturtles, a few stingrays (one eagle ray), some starfish, tons of fish, beautiful coral that looked unharmed... our 1 1/2 hour snorkel session came to a close! Now we needed a local lunch!

Classic Jumpy Picture on Salt Pond Beach...complete other side of the island had no waves!
St. John's wild donkeys that like to get fed from the car windows...they just walk along the side of the road waiting for a snack!
Lizz and Chris invited us over to their resort for a game of water basketball, soak in the hot tub, and to see the beautiful view from their room! Yes Lizz....I am going to tell the whole world that Seth got beat by three girls in PIG when we were playing basketball (do we need to tell them that he was playing left handed....but he was also the first one out because of Lizz's sure fire shot :-) Yes Chris......I am going to tell your Qwirkle story!! So we were playing my new game from Christmas (Thanks Marcus) called Qwirkle. So Chris is kicking our buts in this game because she keeps "Qwirkling" and when you do that you have to shout out "QWIRKLE" well....halfway through and a few Qwirkles later she asks "What is the name of this game??" and Lizz looks at her like are you serious...."Qwirkle!" haha! Too funny....Thanks for the Memory guys! Truly enjoyed you both and we are ready for you to come back and see us already!

ST. JOHN = GORGEOUS

St. John is just a 12 dollar round trip ferry ride away, we can see the island right across from our Sapphire Beach. It is 80% National Park and much more "islander" than St. Thomas....OH THE BEACHES ARE JUST PARADISE!!! It gives you an immediate desire to run and dive right in to the beautiful water, there is something about swimming through that crystal blue Caribbean water!
Me and my CRAZY TISH....This is how she introduces her self...."My name is Tish and sometimes Trish (that is her sassy side)" haha....she is one of a kind with a huge generous heart!!! We made Seth drive on the left side and give us a St. John Beach hopping tour!

There are wild goats and donkeys around on the side of the road to feed....I am bringing carrots next time!
This is an authentic meal that we got in a shack on the east side of the island. Fried garlic chicken, Johnny Cake, Rice and Beans (huge over here), and incredible col-slaw...we waited like 30 minutes for this meal....Island Time :-)
I forgot to pack the snorkel gear so we just ended up flirting and playing in the beautiful water!

WALKING THE WATERFRONT AND SHOPPING

Seth bought me my early valentines present where all the cruise people go shopping. I wanted a new swim suit, all my others were losing the elasticity....and oh boy did he get me a cute suit!!! It is neon and has fringe!!! I think he kind of likes to spoil me :-)
We ate at the Fat Turtle as we viewed the high rollers and their snazzy yachts, and we started laughing at ourselves because we kept referencing Overboard when we were talking about the yachts, for example, "Do you think they have a crew that works for them?" Well, Overboard had a butler and cook and captain...."Do you think they have like a living room in there?" Well, Overboard did I think....haha!
Walking the Waterfront path to Town, Seth bought some malted soda that is a local thing that I thought was gross!
Duty Free shopping that we won't be taking advantage of...up to 1600 dollars a person...yeah right!

WE HAVE SOMETHING CALLED TOWN AND COUNTRY...A RIDE INTO TOWN.

Seth and I riding the Safari bus home from town = 2.00 It is just one dollar if we want to go to Tutu or anywhere besides town.
This is a Safari Bus...aka...public transportation :-) What you do is just go out and stand by the road and watch for the Safari. They will stop and block traffic of course, you hop on, press bell when you want to get off and pay the driver your dollar! And that is how it is done ladies and gentlemen!
THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE IN ST.THOMAS!!! It is like you can't have a conversation with people and K-Mart not come up, it is historical! But I now find myself doing it to; people are so good to call and see if we need a ride to K-Mart or if they can pick us something up.
This is what town looks like...all the cars are pretty used and the roads have huge potholes to make the cars even more used looking!
Lots of art to decorate the walls along the roads....about their history, peace, and race mainly.
Hills spotted with houses that supposedly start at 500,000 dollars...just CRAZINESS!

LINQUIST BEACH

We think that this beach might just take the cake for what we have seen on St. Thomas! The beach is powedery where your feet just sink in its goodess :-) Tish and Evett and us played frizzbee on the beach and then Seth and I just played in the water and layed out as I listened to my Audible Francine Rivers book...Thanks Mom!
We are going to have to have to display the letter of each beach we are on so we can remember which one this was taken on! Not a bad problem huh?
Got caught in one of those infamous rainstorms that just pop up!

COKI BEACH

Coki Beach, this has some outsanding snorkeling! That is Coral World in the background where I want to swim with Sea Lions!
Relaxing on the beautiful white sand beach, drinking our Capri Suns...we got a four pack :-)
Yes we got scammed into this cocnut drink, but it was worth the authentic expereince! This old islander was putting up cocnuts and making drinks from the cocnut milk inside it...nope we won't forget it!

OUR SAPPHIRE ROUTINE

This is my paradise...coke, ice, and lemon slice!
Playing Phase 10 Dice on the beach as the sunsets! The Chair Nazi Lady has now left so we can sit in a chair!
A storm is coming, we can watch it as it comes over the islands in the distance...very majestic!
This is the Sapphire Beach Resort....we are staying behind these in the Spphire House.

REAL LIFE IN THE VIRGIN ISLANDS!

This is our community car...yes people share cars here! Me and Sarah (outpatient oncology travel nurse) getting gas with Tish, Evett, and Seth on Wednesday because that is cheap gas day on the Island and one certain gas station!
We went to Frenchtown and ate by the docks at Tickles...no free refills here. It was fun to have company for dinner, we all live right by one another at Sapphire!
Seth's first day of work on floor 4 as it is known here on the Island....ROUGH NIGHT...but it has gotten better the past few days!!
Seth sleeping during the sunny Island days, such a sweet guy!

KAROKE AT SUGAR BAY

Jermiah was a bull frog....he was a good friend of mine....Seth is such a performer....and is so stinkin' cute up on that stage, he sang right to me the whole time :-)
Monica and Tom have really took us under their wing and helped us adjust to the island!  We are so blessed to have them in our lives here at the Virgin Islands. They like to Karoke and are really good...Seth and I invited our Travel Nursing "Family" as Tish would say :-) God has truly blessed us with incredible friends just instantly!

VIRGIN ISLANDS HERE WE COME!!

Getting ready to land in st. Thomas...we are ready to see our new home! Flights were good, Seth didn't get too air sick!
This is our new place, Seth is eating his rotisserie chicken and rice and beans from the grocery store! Milk 8.00, Peanut Butter 7.00 (little one)....this will be interesting! :-)
